Double screen installation for FromBoer

Slip-in system from PDI in Onder Glas magazine

In the March 2020 issue, PDI was part of a great article in trade magazine ‘Onder Glas’. Early this year, we got to assist brand-new customer Fromboer in optimising their lettuce cultivation in a new greenhouse. In the article, Jeroen de Jonge talks about the system that was installed by PDI.

Double screen installation for FromBoer

Work on the double screen started in January. Jeroen de Jonge of PDI: “This installation fits in perfectly with FromBoer's cultivation method. Because when lettuce cultivation soon starts, the greenhouse becomes ‘forbidden territory’ for outsiders. It will be difficult to get in for any servicing. The entrepreneurs therefore wanted a robust system that requires little to no maintenance”. The greenhouse structure is 7.20 metres high and there will always be crop (on gutters). This is why the installer opted for the PDI slip-in system.

In January, the work started on the double screen. Jeroen de Jonge (PDI): “This installation fits in perfectly with FromBoer’s growing methods. As soon as lettuce growing starts, the greenhouse is forbidden territory to outsiders and the greenhouse is virtually inaccessible for service. For that reason, FromBoer wanted a sturdy installation, which requires little to no maintenance.” The greenhouse structure is 7.20 meters high and there will always be crops in here (gutters are used). This is why the installer chose the PDI Slip-in system.
